Fertility specialist Dr Lynn Burmeister says the Andrews’ government 90-day pause on IVF treatment makes “no logical sense”.
Dr Burmeister said the nurses working at her practice weren’t “being deployed to the Covid ward” or being “told to go to the public hospitals to do work”.
“My fertility nurses can’t work on a ward with Covid patients, they wouldn’t know what to do,” Dr Burmeister said.“We use one needle, the patients are under sedation the whole time, they’re not intubated … the patients go home within two hours of the procedure, they don’t get admitted to the hospital.”
