J.Crew is weighing an IPO for its Madewell clothing brand
J. Crew Group Inc. said late Thursday it is “actively exploring strategic alternatives” for itself, including a possible initial public offering for its Madewell brand of women’s clothing and accessories.
“The company is considering an IPO of Madewell as part of its previously stated initiatives to maximize value, position both the J.Crew and Madewell brands for long-term growth, and deleverage and strengthen the Company’s balance sheet,” J. Crew said in a statement. Nicholson’s appointment replaces the Office of the CEO, in which four executives served since November 2018.
