Jacinta Allan has hit back at Matthew Guy's pledge to 'fix' the health system, saying the Liberals will jeopardise thousands of jobs across Victoria if elected.

to axe the east portion of the Andrews Government's Suburban Railway Loop if elected and pump the $34.5 billion in savings into Victoria’s crippled health system.

But Ms Allan said the jobs are now in danger of being cut in the wake of the Liberal Party's announcement. “For every 100 construction jobs… there are another 200 jobs in the supply chain that are directly supported as a result of this investment in building better, stronger infrastructure. “They’ll cut the Suburban Railway Loop, they’ll cut thousands of jobs and they will cut the connections that come with catching a train directly … to health and education services,” she said.

“It’s really up to Matthew Guy to explain how cutting the Suburban Railway Loop is going to impact those jobs that are already underway on the project.”
