Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has taken aim at Russia after it emerged her predecessor Daniel Andrews had been banned from entering the country.

Other members of the Victorian parliament also copped bans, including Animal Justice Party MP Georgie Purcell and former Liberal member and independent Moira Deeming. "I made the list last year, so, you know, sounds like they regularly update their list," she told reporters. "We will stand with families in Ukraine, we will stand with the Ukrainian community in support of them against Russia's illegal actions."
"Taking into account the fact that official Canberra does not intend to abandon its anti-Russian course and continues to introduce new sanctions measures, work on updating the Russian 'stop list' will continue."
