The premier said she would not call the firebombing an “act of terror” until she had received advice from police. Meanwhile, hundreds have gathered in a Ripponlea park for a rally in solidarity with the Adass Israel community.

Speaking at a press conference in Northcote on Sunday, she confirmed theof the Australian Federal Police and Victoria Police were investigating the fire.

Members of the Adass Israel congregation were forced to flee in the early hours on Friday as fire engulfed the synagogue in Ripponlea duringThe men were pouring liquid on the floor when they were disturbed by a congregant who was attending the Glen Eira Avenue synagogue, police said, prompting the suspects to flee.

“The prime minister won’t even use the word ‘terrorist attack’, and that says something in itself,” Mr Dutton told Sky News.
