A Harris County grand jury takes no action in the police shooting of Jalen Randle a year ago in Houston meaning a new grand jury will hear the evidence at a later date.

This means the case will be presented to a new grand jury as soon as is practical.Attorneys representing Jalen Randle’s family demand justice after receiving new autopsy results. The 29-year-old was shot and killed by a Houston police officer in April, who was attempting to serve multiple felony warrants.

The attorney's office says it is their policy to present all officer-involved shootings to a grand jury to determine whether probablcause exists to support criminal charges. Harris County grand juries are composed of 12 randomly selected county residents who hear all available evidence in a case, including witnesses.

If nine or more grand jurors agree that probable cause exists, they issue a "true bill," or indictment, and the case continues on through the criminal justice system.Jalen Randle's family is still mourning his death. He was shot in the back of his neck by a police officer April 27th. Isiah speaks to his parents about demanding accountability from the Houston Police Department.

This process ensures that all such cases are subject to community review at the grand jury and, if necessary, trial level.
