Four years in the making and shot using the most advanced exploration and research vessel in the world, the BBC saidThe six-part series, made by the BBC’s world-famousfor Disney’s National Geographic network, pairs marine scientists with cutting-edge technology to “unlock the secrets hiding in our oceans.”
“That’s part of the excitement – you go out there and you don’t know what’s going to happen,” the director toldOceanX, a specially-built ship equipped with marine research labs, submersible drones, robots and Hollywood-style film production facilities Ralph Lee, CEO of BBC Studios Productions, confirmed that OceanXplorers, commissioned in 2019, will premiere “in the middle of 2023.”
