James Wan on Finishing ‘Aquaman’ Sequel, AI Fears and Where ‘Saw’ Came From

Wan’s life forever changed when he met aspiring Aussie actor-screenwriter Leigh Whannell at Melbourne’s RMIT University, and their shared love of genre films would lead to their indie horror hit. “From the first moment I met James Wan, I knew he was going to be a successful film director,” Whannell recalls. “There was nothing cocky or boastful about him.
