He has been given 12-18 months to live, and is optimistic about what is possible, having already outlived many expectations. Professor Tom Powles, whom he co-founded Kidney Cancer UK with after his first bout, is treating James, and he cannot praise his help enough. Maybe this explains his persistent optimism through it all.
