'Phenomenal' bassist Derrick McIntyre who worked with Jamiroquai and Beverly Knight dies in car crash.
A "phenomenal" bass player who worked with major artists, including Jamiroquai on his hit Dynamite album, has died in a five-car crash.
The Watford resident had also played on albums with artists such as Emeli Sandé, Will Young and Beverly Knight.It added that his loss will "be felt in and around the music world".Derrick McIntyre played on Jamiroquai's 2005 album Dynamite which peaked at number 3 in the UK charts They included Mr McIntyre's bronze Vauxhall Astra, a silver Honda Jazz, a silver Chevrolet Orlando, a blue Ford Focus and a white Mercedes GLC.Officers are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident and have requested those with information to come forward.Derrick McIntyre's family said he was a "proud dad, husband, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friend"
