The 2024 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Japanese organization Nihon Hidankyo for its efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.

The grassroots movement for the survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs is called Hibakusha. Mr Frydnes said Nihon Hidankyo had become "the largest and most influential Hibakusha organisation in Japan".
