Hong Kong stocks weakened, with the Hang Seng Index HSI, -1.36% down 1.4% at 17,373.03, while Japan's Nikkei 225 Index NIK, -0.05% was flat at 31,857.62.
Shares of electric utilities firm Power Assets Holdings 6, -0.66% and diversified holding companies company CK Infrastructure Hldgs 1038, -0.54% declined 0.7% and 0.5%, respectively. Among Nikkei 225 Index constituents, marine transport company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines 9104, -5.30% saw the largest decrease Friday, as shares fell 5.3%
