Former Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba will reportedly have surgery to repair a broken wrist he suffered in the Seahawks' preseason matchup with the Cowboys.

The Seahawks' No. 20 overall pick in the 2023 draft, Smith-Njigba arrived in Seattle after three seasons at Ohio State. The Rockwall, Texas native collected 105 receptions for 1,655 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first two seasons with the Buckeyes but was limited to five receptions for 43 yards in 2022 because of a hamstring ailment he sustained in Ohio State's win against Notre Dame in the season opener.

In his preseason debut against the Minnesota Vikings, Smith-Njigba hauled in three passes for 25 yards. He secured three catches for 58 yards against Dallas. Because of his injury and subsequent surgery, Smith-Njigba will miss Seattle's final preseason contest against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 26. However, he could heal in time to play in the Week 1 opener with the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 10.
