'Eight days later, I had a brand new face. And it’s better than what was there before.'
, the 72-year-old comedian recounted the incident, which he says upgraded his appearance.

Anybody who works with their hands on a regular basis is going to have an accident at some point. If you play football, you get a concussion or a broken leg. Anything you do, there’s a risk factor.""You have to joke about it," he says.
Thankfully, a friend was nearby and was able to immediately extinguish the fire. After suffering third-degree burns on the left side of his face, he was admitted to the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles. Shortly after the accident, Leno told ET,"I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet."
Leno was back on his feet and back on the stage in no time, following his release from the hospital. On Nov. 27,
