Billionaire Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post, was reportedly personally confronted by a staffer over planned layoffs at the company.

Bezos, who usually takes a hands-off approach to the company, appeared in the company's offices this week to sit in on editorial meetings and meet senior leadership, according to Fox News Digital.THOUSANDS OF AMAZON WORKERS STRIKE ON BLACK FRIDAY

The conversation, shared with Fox News Digital by an insider at the organization, revolved around complaints that publisher Fred Ryan wasn't accepting questions about the layoffs and that he wasn't forthcoming with possible benefits. "Why announce in mid-December that some vague number of layoffs was coming at some undetermined point during the first quarter of the next year?" the employee asked."And then not answer a single question about it from a room full of reporters? What’s the point other than to induce anxiety in your workforce? Just about every conversation I’ve had in the newsroom over the past month has been about what’s about to go down. And no one really knows anything.

"I'm committed. Believe me. I'm committed," Bezos reportedly said in response. He added that he was only there to listen and not ask questions.Bezos bought the Washington Post from the Graham family in 2013.
