The West Coast Eagles have overcome a hamstring injury to key defender Jeremy McGovern to secure an AFL finals berth with a 15-point win over St Kilda at the Gabba.The win moves the Eagles into provisional fourth place on the ladder ahead of the completion of round 17
They moved ahead of Richmond into fourth place on the ladder courtesy of the result, however the Tigers can jump back in front of the Eagles if they at least draw with Geelong on the Gold Coast on Friday night. Without so many of their top-level midfielders, it was Tim Kelly who stood up for the Eagles in a best-on-ground display.
