Douglas Miguel Rodriguez, a victim of the Jersey City shooting on Tuesday, intended to return to his home country, his family said.

Miguel Rodriguez had reportedly been working at the grocery store for about a year when he was killed. William said that his brother came to the United States"looking for better opportunities for his household and family."page was started to assist his wife and 11-year-old daughter. The page described Rodriguez as"a devoted husband, friend, and father" and a"God-loving, honest and hard-working person was who [sic] available to help others."
William recalled the moment when he spoke with Miguel for the final time."The last conversation he said to take care of my mom," he said."Take care of our siblings. And for us to always stay united and a family. He wanted us to always be together and support each other."
