Jim Davidson has called for the BBC license fee to be 'scrapped' saying that following the Gary Lineker row the BBC has 'lost the dressing room.'

The 69-year-old comedian appeared on Monday’s GB News and branded the platform ‘woke’ and accused the cooperation of caring only about ‘box ticking.’

Host Dan Wootton asked: ‘So, where do you see the BBC heading now Jim? Is it going to become even more of an activist organisation?’Davidson responded: ‘Well, I don’t know. It’s up to Tim [Davie] and all those silly people.’ He added: ‘Everyone’s just picking on one another. I think the BBC have lost have lost the public – they’ve lost the dressing room.‘What does BBC stand for? Bring back Corbyn, bring back communism. It is a joke, and we have to pay for it, whether we like it or not. Let’s scrap it. Let’s watch GB News all day long.’Over the past week, Lineker has been embroiled in a dispute with his bosses at the national broadcaster after hecriticising the Conservative government and its Illegal Migration Bill.

However, Tim Davie, the BBC’s director-general, said he was ‘looking forward’ to Lineker ‘presenting our coverage this coming weekend’.
