EXCLUSIVE: Dundee-born Prof Jim Skea is standing down as chair of the Just Transition Commission after five years at the helm to head up the UN's leading climate science body.
Scotland's Just Transition Commission chief will quit his post after he was recently elected to lead the UN’s top climate science body.The energy and transport expert, of Imperial College London, is taking charge of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - the high-profile body at the heart of global efforts to tackle the climate crisis.
Writing exclusively for the Record, Prof Skea, 69, said: “I am sad to be leaving this role and have a clear message - it’s time to push ahead with bold action to make just transition a reality.“The cost-of-living crisis adds real urgency to getting this right.
