Mostyn told the Jobs and Skills Summit there were multiple factors contributing to the national average gender pay gap of 14 per cent, including industry patterns, the fact that women had less opportunity to build experience, and age discrimination faced by older women. “It especially reflects the influence of gender stereotypes and implicit biases that mean it’s not an even playing field. And these biases are compounded for marginalised women, including First Nations women, women living with a disability, and migrant women.
