Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden has unveiled plans to tackle gun violence that include reinstating the ban on the sale and manufacture of assault-style rifles, and asking owners to register them under the national firearms act or sell them through a voluntary buyback program.
He also proposes closing the so-called"boyfriend loophole" and"hate crime loophole" by preventing people who were abusive former partners or have a stalking conviction, or a conviction for a hate crime from buying firearms.
