As Joe Biden says he is worried President Trump may attempt to 'steal' the November election the most senior military officer in the US says he regrets joining Mr Trump for his photo outside a church during recent protests.
Joe Biden has said his biggest worry is that US President Donald Trump will attempt to "steal" the November election, and the Democratic challenger says he's even considered the possibility that Mr Trump would refuse to leave the White House should he lose.
Mr Biden was asked whether he has considered what would happen if Mr Trump refused to vacate the White House in the event he wasn't re-elected. There is little evidence to support that assertion, and Mr Trump himself has voted by mail in the past. "What in God's name was that about other than trying to let the word out that he's going to do all that he can to make it very hard for people to vote."
Authorities in Washington DC had dispersed protesters with tear gas and rubber bullets near the White House so that the photo could be taken, and General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, now says taking part in the photo op was a mistake.
