He is awake and in a stable condition in ICU after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumour in his mouth last week.Farnham’s family went on to thank the public for the countless messages of support they had received since the announcement last Tuesday.
“The Farnham family want to acknowledge and thank everyone for their ongoing messages and well wishes that have been shared throughout the last week,” they said.entertainment reporter Peter Ford said that “this is going to be a very long and arduous process to get to whatever point he’s going to be able to get to.
“ are very grateful for what is being said, and the thoughts and the messages that are going around.”Ford called the statement “short and simple” but said that fans could not expect the family to provide a “miraculous announcement so soon after that major operation”. The gruelling 12-hour surgery that Farnham, 72, underwent has put the rest of his singing career in doubt, according to Ford, who told radio station 6PR last week that it was unlikely he will perform live again.“The first was the removal of the tumour, the second was a reconstructive surgery because John has had part of his jaw removed.”
