BREAKING: Former PM John Howard has been taken to hospital after a visit to his doctor.
Sky News political reporter Andrew Clennell said the 81-year-old had been taken to hospital with an undisclosed illness, not COVID-19 related, following a visit to his GP on Monday morning.
Mr Clennell said he had spoken by phone with Mr Howard, Australia’s 25th prime minister, who downplayed the incident and said he was fine. Liberal Party icon Mr Howard, who led Australia from 1996 to 2007, is the nation’s second-longest serving leader.
