John Hunter Hospital management has apologised to junior doctors for the email, which it called inappropriate.The ABC understands a critical email was sent to a junior doctor from Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
A screenshot of the email is now being widely circulated online and among doctors around Australia, with many sending it to the ABC."Seriously! I wonder if any of them realise that they are a doctor and that this is what happens," the email read."God help us in the future. We are going to have a workforce of clinical marshmellows !"
It was almost identical to the public statement, but went further by calling the comments "inappropriate".Junior Vice President of the Australian Salaried Medical Officers' Federation Tom Morrison, who is also a junior doctor in Sydney, said the email criticising JMOs was not acceptable.
