The new series is called “American Historia' and will air on PBS in the fall.

The new series “American Historia,” which will build off themes of his one-man Tony-nominated“American Historia” was co-created by Leguizamo and award-winning filmmaker Ben DeJesus, who is the series’ director. It’s unclear which historical figures or what part of San Antonio’s rich Latino history, which be explored in the series. However, the Alamo City’s 300-year history that stretches back to Spanish Texas, gives the show’s creators a lot to choose from.

“American Historia” focuses on Leguizamo as he undertakes a “chronological journey traveling throughout Mexico and the U.S. to shed light on both the known and lesser-known stories of Latino history.”
