Meghan McCain, the daughter of late Senator John McCain, responded to President Donald Trump again dismissing her father by saying he was “never a fan of John McCain and I never will be.”
"Do not feel bad for me and my family. We are blessed, we are a family of privilege," Meghan McCain said. "Feel bad for people out there who are being bullied who don’t have support." Trump’s latest remarks about John McCain came while he was talking with reporters in the White House sitting alongside Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Some Republicans were swift to rebuke Trump, with Utah Senator Mitt Romney tweeting he could not"understand why the President would, once again, disparage a man as exemplary as my friend John McCain: heroic, courageous, patriotic, honorable, self-effacing, self-sacrificing, empathetic, and driven by duty to family, country, and God."
