The Australian has revealed Victorian Liberal Leader John Pesutto paid $50,000 to cover the legal bills of two women who sued him for defamation after he suggested they were linked to neo-Nazis.
Sky News host Peta Credlin has questioned why payments made by the Victorian Liberal leader were “kept secret” and if “other people passed money” to pay his legal debts.
“Now, here's something else interesting with this whole talk of, until now, secret payments – the two women at the centre of this legal case, Angela Jones and Kellie-Jay Keen, claim they were unaware of the existence of this $50,000 payment. Indeed, they say they have never seen a dollar from it.
