John Aloisi’s Western United bosses expect him to eventually follow in the footsteps of Ange Postecoglou, and won’t stand in his way if he explores national or overseas jobs. westernunited
As much as Western United bosses would love to tie up John Aloisi to a contract extension, the club is aware there will likely be plans to poach him by a local rival, an overseas club – or even the national team.
“I have never shied away from the fact that I want to get to the very top as a coach. I am hopeful that one day I am going to be good enough that I will be able to go to another level overseas.Western United celebrate their Grand Final triumphWestern chief executive Chris Pehlivanis says the club would never stand in Aloisi’s way if he wanted to prove himself at higher level.
The new champions will still not have a home ground next season and are negotiating to play another season either at AAMI Park or Lakeside, the home of NPL club South Melbourne.
