The First Minister revealed a new scheme to support eight bus operators across Scotland and build a nationwide charging network would be backed by £42million.
The scheme, which includes £42million of investment from the Scottish Government , will support eight operators and also see a Scotland-wide charging network set up for buses, coaches and lorries.
Transport remains the biggest contributor of harmful emissions in Scotland - making up nearly a third of the total - with most of this coming from road transport and freight. “Every £1 from the Scottish Government will leverage £3.20 of private sector investment – demonstrating that our shared decarbonisation goals can be met by working together when it comes to removing carbon emissions from our bus and coach fleets.
