The original John Wick was made for a budget of just $20-$30 million, opened to $14.4 million, grossed $43 million domestically, and $86 million worldwide, so in just its first week, John Wick: Chapter 4 has nearly passed the entire box office run of the first John Wick movie. John Wick: Chapter 2 opened to $30.4 million, earned $92 million domestically and $171.5 million worldwide, and John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum opened to $56.8 million, earned $171 million domestically, and grossed $328.
John Wick 4 Continues a Big John Wick Box Office Trend One key trend to notice with John Wick: Chapter 4's box office is that it continues a trend of ever-increasing box office with each installment. The first John Wick opened to $14.4 million domestically, John Wick: Chapter 2's $30.4 million opening weekend improved on that by 111 percent, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum's $56.8 improved again by 87 percent, and now John Wick: Chapter 4's $73.
If it performs anything like the other John Wick movies, it'll be fairly easy to project a possible total box office haul for John Wick: Chapter 4. The first three John Wick movies tripled their opening weekend domestic box office with an average multiplier of 3, so assuming John Wick: Chapter 4 can maintain that same pace, then it could earn a franchise-high $220.6 million domestically.
