Joliestar lived up to her looks and pedigree in winning the Thousand Guineas but the best might be yet to come.

It was love at first sight when Cambridge Stud boss Henry Plumptre and owners Brendan and Jo Lindsay saw Joliestar.

“We fell in love with her from there. We wanted a strong Australian family, and she ticked that box, and she was just an athlete. “It would be fair to say we didn’t know much about running a horse stud when we started, but we are learning and we have been lucky to get a couple of real nice horses,” Lindsay said.“We had Probabeel, which was a once in a lifetime horse that won the Karaka Millions at two and three, and four group 1s in Australia, and now we have Joliestar, which looks like being up there with her.

Her next assignment is the group 2 Sheraco Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday, where she is the $1.80 favourite and clashes with last year’s winner, Sunshine In Paris.
