DOWNEY — St. Pius football three-star wide receiver Jordan Shaw was a difference maker for his team in a 52-0 victory at home Friday against Del Rey league opponent St. Genevieve .The Warriors had a total of 223 passing yards, 209 rushing yards, seven total touchdowns, seven defensive sacks, and one field goal.
Since Devah Thomas took over as coach for St. Pius two years ago, Friday’s victory was the first over St. Genevieve. “St. Genevieve coach has really been doing a great job. We’re 0-2 against them,” said Thomas. “We haven’t beat them yet and he has his team well prepared for us.” Before Friday’s game, St. Pius received the news that senior quarterback Dieter Barr was no longer injured and cleared to play.Can confirm that St. Pius QB Dieter Barr will be back for the Warriors tonight. Coach Devah Thomas said the plan is play both and see how the game goes.
