Benfica have released their financial accounts for the past year - and it’s finally come to light just how much Jota cost Celtic.
An even better campaign last season saw him almost make the Portugal squad for the World Cup, and his goal in the Scottish Cup semi-final beat Rangers to etch his name further into Celts folklore. According to Portuguese outlet Record, Benfica did sell Jota to Celtic for £6.5million last summer - though they inserted a 30 per cent clause into the deal.
