Grand Canyon point guard Jovan Blacksher Jr., re-injured his ankle early in the overtime period Saturday night and had to come out.
He had nine points, but, in the end, he got lots of help, especially from Gabe McGlothan, who had his highest scoring game in a GCU uniform with 20 points. Forward Yvan Ouedraogo made 5 of 6 free throws and finished with 13 points and eight rebounds for the Lopes.Josh Baker six points and seven rebounds for GCU.Blacksher's 3 from the corner with 1:41 to play was the biggest. It gave GCU a 67-66 lead, its first lead since the final minute of the first half.
After Harrison was called for offensive foul with 14 seconds left, Pepperdine's Maxwell Lewis made two free throws with nine seconds left to tie the score at 68-68. Blacksher missed a shot and at the end of regulation."Throughout the season they had not offensive rebounded as well," Drew said."Credit to them, they were aggressive. They used their length, their size. We did not do a good job boxing out. But thankfully we rebounded.
