Barnaby Joyce has joined fierce calls to further scrap COVID-19 restrictions, adding that Australians “just want their lives and liberties back”.

Victoria and New South Wales are now actively considering scrapping the seven-day isolation requirement for household contacts with a decision “coming” according to Premier Daniel Andrews.

Picture: NCA“People understand that COVID is an infectious disease, the vast majority of people now either know somebody who’s had it or have had it themselves and they just want their lives and liberties back.”

Mr Andrews said both governments agreed with scrapping the isolation period but needed to first understand how many new daily cases would arise from the change.
