Jamie Dimon doubts U.S. and China will strike trade deal prior to 2020 election
President Trump is floating the idea China could agree to a trade deal before the 2020 election, but one of America’s top CEOs is skeptical.
CEOs of the nation’s largest companies trimmed forecasts for sales, hiring and investment due to worries about the escalating tit-for-tat tariff dispute between the U.S. and China. Dimon doesn’t think a recession is coming soon, however. He said strong consumer confidence and household spending should keep the economy expanding, though at a slower pace.
