It's currently unclear how U.S. District Judge Sara Lioi’s decision will affect Dimora’s 28-year sentence.

Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora is led out of his Independence home in handcuffs, Wednesday, September 15, 2010. FBI agents arrived to take him away. CLEVELAND, Ohio – A federal judge Monday dismissed two bribery-related charges against former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, a move that will have him sentenced again in June.

The charges were among more than a dozen that U.S. District Judge Sara Lioi considered after a federal appeals court remanded the case in August 2020. Lioi rejected the challenges to all but two corruption charges. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
