Julia Roberts designed her own Chopard necklace, ring and earrings using the 6,225-carat rough emerald known as Insofu.
As Chopard’s global ambassador, it’s no surprise that Julia Roberts dazzled at a pre-Oscars party in an exquisite necklace by the Swiss house this week. Less expected, however? The fact that the Academy Award-winning actor actually co-designed said necklace. The collaboration was sparked by Chopard’s discovery of an exceptional 6,225-carat rough emerald known as Insofu.
Roberts picked out turquoise, her favourite gem, to sit next to the verdant emeralds and cherry-coloured rubellites, with the stones arranged into abstract floral formations. The finished pieces are both joyfully bohemian — perfect with a pair of jeans, as Roberts suggests — and resolutely glamorous. Roberts isn’t the only brand ambassador to turn her hand to jewellery design recently.
