Four female politicians have taken to the Sydney Opera House stage for a discussion about women in leadership.

Former foreign minister Julie Bishop was joined by Independent MP Julia Banks, Labor MP Linda Burney and Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young for the ‘Leading While Female’ panel at All About Women festival. During the panel, Ms Bishop says when she was the only woman in Cabinet in 2013, she experienced ‘gender deafness’ during meetings, where men would not listen to her ideas unless it came from one of the men.
