Eight years ago, Melbourne 's western region saw a dramatic increase in junior cricket teams, from 160 to 420. The sport is booming among children of Indian and South Asian heritage, with some participating in multiple teams and even taking private lessons. However, concerns have risen about burnout among young players, with some as young as 11 bowling up to 60 overs in a weekend.
