Council workers and members of a surf lifesaving club will continue sweeps of a suburban Adelaide beach after a young 'nipper' impaled her foot on a rusty spike.
He said West Beach, west of Adelaide, had experienced a large amount of sand erosion and at low tide debris was often exposed. "It first started happening about two months ago," Mr Zuill said. The issue was reported to the City of Charles Sturt and since then the club had picked up 20 to 30 staples. "There's a lot of activity down there now," Mr Zuill said. "It is an ongoing concern. It is just not staples. There's rocks and other debris, it is quite dangerous.
