The nine incidents occurred between August and November of 2018.

A New Jersey man has been convicted by a jury in a multi-state armed robbery spree, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

Vincent Chan-Guillen, 32, of Union County, was accused of brandishing a gun during robberies at liquor stores in Elizabeth, Woodbridge, Bloomfield and Linden, as well as five locations in New York, prosecutors said. The jury returned a guilty verdict after a week-long trial in Newark federal court, officials said.

The Hobbs Act prohibits actual or attempted robbery or extortion affecting interstate or foreign commerce, according to the Department of Justice.
