Aussie cricket superstar Glenn Maxwell broke down in tears during a live radio interview as he reflected on the death of Shane Warne.
Maxwell — a dynamic fixture in Australia’s white ball teams — first encountered Warne as a teenager and later became friends when they shared a dressing room together at the Melbourne Stars in the early days of the T20 Big Bash League.In a tearful interview with Triple M’sprogram, Maxwell was overwhelmed with emotion as he tried to digest a loss that has shocked the world.
“That was just the sort of person he was, he just gave his time so generously … he inspired multiple generations of cricketers just wanting to be Shane Warne.“Even just to talk to him about normal stuff. He was so knowledgeable, so caring, so friendly. “Absolutely devastated,” he wrote. “The effect that the king had on so many people around the world is immeasurable.
“The cricket community will always remember that he inspired an entire generation of players to try to be the greatest player of all time. Those who were lucky enough to watch/play with , will be forever thankful to be in the presence of true genius.
