Victoria recorded two new cases of coronavirus and no news deaths on Sunday, as the state waits with bated breath for the state government's announcement around eased restrictions
The other restrictions to be lifted or eased on Sunday are most likely to be those related to social and family gatherings in outdoor settings.
Health Minister Greg Hunt said that Victoria had met the public health benchmarks needed to open up to the same extent as NSW, and "hospitality, movement and family reunions among others" should be re-allowed. Professor Brett Sutton said on Saturday that the state government wanted to ease restrictions in a way that there was "no backwards step, where we do it with the confidence that it can stay that way".
