The U.S. Justice Department on Friday took steps to solidify the leadership ranks of its criminal division and fraud section under an assistant attorney general selected by President Biden

Lisa Miller will serve as acting deputy assistant attorney general for the criminal division, overseeing the fraud and appellate sections, a Justice Department spokesman said. Ms. Miller replaces Daniel Kahn,Our Morning Risk Report features insights and news on governance, risk and compliance.The Justice Department also has appointed two deputy chiefs within its fraud section, according to an internal Justice Department announcement viewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Brent Wible and Lorinda Laryea will serve as acting co-principal deputy chiefs, according to the announcement by acting fraud section chief Joseph Beemsterboer. Mr. Wible previously served in a similar role, while Ms. Laryea was serving as the principal assistant deputy of the section’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act unit.Photo:
