Klau was one of four athletes inducted into the 2022 San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday night at the at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Joining him in the 2022 class were former Silver Stars All-Star Sophia Young-Malcolm, former Baylor track athlete Natalie Nalepa and former St. Gerard football coach George Pasterchick, who was honored posthumously.
“I know for a fact that due to all the people who came out tonight to celebrate him and his career that he is high on life right now,” said his son Steve Pasterchick, who along with Georgia Bartlett accepted the award on their father’s behalf. Williams is just starting her WNBA career and is in training camp with the Phoenix Mercury. Something Young-Malcolm knows all about. She played in 301 career games for the Silver Stars before her retirement following the 2015 season. She was selected to the WNBA All-Star Game three times.
