Channel 7’s star AFL commentator Kane Cornes has whipped the football world into a frenzy with his list of the game’s top-50 players. And over in the west, the collective brains of Eagles fans were exploding simultaneously with the sudden realisation that emerging superstar Harley Reid had been left on the cutting room floor.

Kane Cornes unveils his top five AFL players. Cornes admits he “didn’t really consider” Reid but has no doubt he’ll be “well entrenched” in the top 10 in two or three years time. “It’s a very tough list to get onto,” Cornes says and pointed to other seasoned stars such as Collingwood’s Jordan De Goey and Western Bulldogs high-flyer Aaron Naughton who didn’t make the grade either.
