There are some options open for the rapper to make it to the White House but with the election just a few months away, it's unlikely he'll be able to make a meaningful impact in the 2020 race.

US rapper Kanye West took to Twitter over the weekend to announce he was running for president, with his declaration quickly going viral and prompting a flurry of speculation.West is best known for his music, with his rap career really taking off when his album The College Dropout was released to critical acclaim in 2004.Early in his music career West also dabbled in fashion design, collaborating with brands on projects until he premiered his women's fashion label in 2011.

He repeated his plans at Fast Company's Innovation Festival in November 2019, this time pushing his campaign back four years."When I run for president in 2024, we would have created so many jobs I'm not gonna run, I'm gonna walk."At the moment, all we have to go on is a Twitter post from West:"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future.
