The network has joined two of the biggest names in Australian media to launch The Long Weekend, a new weekly news, sport and entertainment format. The new three-hour weekly program will be broadcast live on the GOLD Network on Fridays from 12pm to 3pm across Australia, live streamed and on demand on iHeart, and also available to stream on 9Now and Stan. On his new weekend project, Stefanovic said he is ready to disrupt the status quo and have fun, while McGuire joins with excitement and shared the opportunity to work together is a once in a career opportunity.

Stefanovic and McGuire's new three-hour weekly program will be broadcast live on the GOLD Network on Fridays from 12pm to 3pm across Australia, live streamed and on demand on iHeart. Karl and I have been talking about working together for years, and to do it on this scale, nationally on GOLD, internationally on iHeart, on 9Now and Stan and with JAM TV as a production partner is a once in a career opportunity.

” The Long Weekend will also be available for listeners in New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, the United States, and the UK via the iHeart global Network. Michael Stephenson, Chief Executive Officer of ARN, said: “Karl and Eddie are two of the biggest stars in Australian media and they are now at ARN. ”The new weekend radio show will stream on 9Now and Stan, in a multi-platform collaboration with ARN.
Today show host Stefanovic has repeatedly fuelled rumours he's sent to leave Nine when his contract comes to an end later this year. But, Nine has confirmed Stefanovic and McGuire's respective commitments with the network will remain unchanged. Stefanovic is one of the highest paid Nine employees. The network declined to comment on how much they are forking out for his new venture.
